Rebuilding the top end of my Suzuki LTZ400. I don't want to just go on amazon and search "valve lapping compound" because there's so much cheap knockoff shit on there it's crazy.

Not an expert, but what are your heads and valve seats made from?

If they are coated valves - to increase strength and heat resistance. When you lap them, you cut into the coating and can lead to premature failure.
