I can’t believe how much spam mail and telemarketers target my elderly dad. Its really unbelieveable. So much mail from charities. Its disgusting.

The governments protect the scammers from what we would do to them. Think about that.

Think about how unpleasant and unappealing it would be for scammers if we knew who they were and managed to catch a few.

This shit would stop almost immediately.

How long before the scammers create an AI to do the scamming for them. Then we'll just have one AI trying to scam another AI. The future seems wonderful.

I used to answer the phone and say “hold on” and I’d put the phone down and say “you there?” after about 5 minutes. I’d say a couple things then tell them to hold on again. It was fun.

Lots of comments on this thread are going on about finding the scammers. Issue is like this. The DID, the number can be randomized. Almost nothing you can do to stop this with current internet phones. You would need to rework the entire system.

When these systems were created it was a much, much simpler world.

What needs to happen is this. All tier 1 countries need to band together and create a passcode enforced phone registry.

The US has done tones to come down on the back haul providers over the last decade but they have found new ways to initiate scams inbound via text message, FB or email spam.

I actually got a full extortion scam email a while back.
Perfect grammar so not likely a Poo.
But had my full name, email and address all correct and had a street view photo of my house lol.

Knew right away it still doesn’t mean shit, but still the most they’ve had before.
Full long letter in perfect grammar about how they’ve recorded hours of video off my phone camera and eventually caught me jerking off in my room lol.
And threatened to send it to all my contacts in 36hrs if I didn’t send $2000 to a bitcoin address, and that there was spyware in the attachment photo of my house (only opened because the senders email was my email exactly, which I learned later can be done) that would set a timer on the photo release blah blah blah.

I didn’t buy any of this for a second, for a dozen reasons, but it was fun to just reply. “sorry dude I’ve never jerked off on my phone, or with my phone even facing me. I have a laptop for that lol”

It wasn’t threatening at all, but was a surprisingly escalation from the typical 70IQ “send bobs and vajeen” poo telemarketer.

Coolest part though was that while just imagining if it was real,, I knew there wasn’t a single second I’d have considered paying.
My friends will definitely get a wank video of me before I’d spend $20 to let them keep their leverage.
