This is why, when my sister-in-law (who was and is a wildly flaming Boston Taxachussets liberal lawyer) asked me who I voted for back in 2016, at Thanksgiving no less (because I was a known knuckle-dragger), she was just trying to start shit at a family gathering and we both knew it.
But I took into consideration that this was my wife's sister, whom she loved.

And I smiled a big ol' Texas smile and lied right to her face like butter wouldn't melt in my mouth, and said, "Oh, I voted for hillary! The same way I voted for obama! Twice! Pinky swearsies!"

And I kept right on smiling while she fumed and glared daggers at me because she KNEW I was lying, and I knew she knew, and I knew that she knew I knew that she knew, but there was fuck-all she could do or even say about it, and that was the whole point. She wasn't going to get her chance to ruin Thanksgiving and be the center of attention by provoking a family shit show.

If I already don't like you, the best you can hope for is a lie, because I'm not going to bother telling you the truth. You don't rate.

Never ask questions that you don't know already the answer too, can't check the answers, don't want the answer on the record, or already know that you're not going to like the answer.
