That's Mondo Duplantis. Basically a child prodigy that grew up among his father's PV training gear. His father was also very successful, and more importantly never pressured his son to vault, rather kept it entirely fun.

As a PV coach and parent I attended several events where he competed. There are elite vaulters that are inspiring to watch. Then there is Mondo.

He's easily 12 inches over that crossbar in that video clip.

I vaulted 15' in college in the late 70's. I was at a track camp and Seagram and Williamson were jumping over 17' routinely. The difference between 15' and 17' is huge, anyone could jump 15' but only a few in the world could go over 17'. Mondo is doing 20' and the the poles are basically the same as there were in the late 70's. It's mind boggling watching Mondo. He is from Louisiana but jumps for Sweden.
