My best friend had one of his entire bedroom wall covered in Iron Maiden posters. He works as a manager in a supermarket. About five years ago or so, he went on a surprising rant about kikes and niggers. Now we speak freely about them, haha! (We were both raised in barely interior Philly.)

E: Context ... the rant was about kike and nigger behavior in supermarkets. I left that part out. Also, I always spoke out, but now I can more freely talk unfettered completely with him once he fully realized the true situation.

I’ve been a Maiden fan since 1983 or so. I like everything they did up to Somewhere in time. That album was meh. The following album, Seventh Son, was so bad I threw it out.
I really like the first two albums the best.

It is, but the origin of the term is significantly more mundane: A lot of radio stations would play a stock soundbite saying "Rock. Nothing but rock.", then procede to play generic trash. Hence "butt rock".

I fucking despise radio rock with a passion born of being forced to listen to it on radio stations when I was young, working in warehouses and shit like that. Even these beloved Iron Maiden songs, or songs I liked when I was younger, now sound like trash to me.

I've become a total post-rock-head in recent years. Once you step into that world, stepping back into anything else feels like going from the major leagues back down into tee-ball.
