I had seen pictures of those before and I actually thought it was an amphibious car. But it's just a jet ski boat that has a fiberglass shape of a car. Still looks pretty cool though and seems like it'd be fun to drive around on the water.

I know they did. The army had a mod for the jeep. There are even modern cars that do this. There was a new one released some years ago.
