How they really work:

CEO wants a new jet with TWO bathrooms not just one. Realizes if he fires all the American workers and moves production to Mexico, he'll get not only get his new jet but all the twink prostitutes money can buy.

2. Trump says no, we'll tariff the shit out of you if you do that. Now CEO has no economic incentive to fire all his American workers.

3. CEO complains that tariffs are a threat to Our Democracy.

Tarriffs work to re domesticate business back into the US. The tarrifs are one part of a multi part mechanism to re bring back production to a country. But of course, the typical liberal asshole hates the idea of working, and knows nothing but being a sleezy grifting parasite. Remember, most liberals are either on welfare, living with their parents, illegal aliens, or have some make shift gov job being a useless grifting piece of shit. I would classify a gov job as welfare as well, since its sole purpose is to piss away cash to idiots who would be instantly fired anywhere else.

So technically, they are somewhat correct. Assuming gov legislates away business and forces reliance on other countries, tariffs are useless. They would operate as a second sales tax.

One real world example of tariffs.

Canada forces it's taxpayers to fund its pork farmers.

Now those farmers can export to nz and undercut nz pork farmers.

Except nz puts a tariff on Canadian pork to balance out the under cutting...

Just kidding. Nz govt betrays nz claiming free trade.

Canada drives almost all nz pork farmers out of business and a few years later the price of pork goes high again.

Essentially using Canadian taxpayer money, Canada traded nz pork farming jobs/businesses for nz to have cheap pork for a couple of years.

A dirty rotten trick aided and abetted by treasonous politicians.
