Meanwhile, the Republicans take control of the Senate and Congress.

This is how they get Americans to accept the results -

Republicans are told that yes, Trump is more popular because he won the popular vote. But that the system is flawed, and the most popular doesn't always win.
And to be happy that the Republicans control Congress and Senate.
