AK's have a clear and well determined line of quality.

Russian, Bulgarian, Yugo, Hungarian, Chinese. Everything else is crap.

Edit- forgot East German aka Unobtainium. A VZ58 is also not an AK.

Not really. Yugo as in Tito not former Yugoslavia.

More than likely the same tooling, just worn and the quality requirements don't end with imprisonment.

From an operators view the AK all the way, parts are easier to find, easier to operate and maintain. From a manufacturer/military supplier view, the Zastava is cheaper to build and distribute to your army. Personally I’m sticking with my Lever action model 94 chambered in .30/30 it’s more fun to play cowboy than soldier.

one of my favorite guns, but I really hated loading one round into the primer of the one before it. always made me a little nervous.

Anything Zastava is probably a crap, I'd not pay for that.

actually I'm curious if they are any good, maybe you can let us know. I did learned to shoot with some zastava thing, and was pretty good too, but that was some time ago.

edit: I just remembered now, if you not put that gun just right, damn it can hurt your shoulder. but yeah, was fun. back in 91.
