Yeah I've gone off of it at times, I can go for a few days ok however after about ten days I start to get restless and decide I would be better off smoking .. I do about an oz of legal bud weed per week, I'm seventy something and have been a "weeder" since at age 6 yrs, I started chewing the weed sticking thru the fence of an Iraqi doctor who lived up the street, who had it growing in his front yard .. that source went bad when the doctor became one of the first persons in South Australia to be prosecuted for cultivation .. while he had it growing next to the fence I would go out in the middle of the night to pluck some .. the days I had it before school were the best days I had .. toke on.
I decided to quit weed competely about 8 months ago and haven't slipped even once. Overall it's been an improvement in my day to day life and how I feel in general.
Congratulations. We cannot rebuild our nation with a bunch of drug addicts. After quitting booze and cigarettes and caffeine and a few prescription drugs I finally realized the secret: drugs do not make you feel better. They make you need drugs to feel okay. Good for you. I hope you have someone IRL thats proud of you for this.
Thanks! I need to drop caffeine too honestly. Never was a big drinker. I have people who care irl but none of them probably noticed any issues with weed other than I'm a little more available now than I used to be. Most of the improvement was internal.
Congrats to you too. I already knew about you being sober and clean from previous discussions but you're right, it's important and can be pretty hard to get to the part where you understand how much it's worth it.
I was a big booze drinker and a big caffeine drinker. I was in denial about the caffeine abuse because everybody else seems to be. There is virtually no stigma associated with caffeine abuse. But I was daily trying to manage my moods with caffeine. It was classic addiction behavior.
People completely underestimate this drug. It made me emotionally volatile and anxious and bitchy. You may never have been at the level of caff addiction that I was at, but I just think its worth it for anyone to try stopping caffeine. Mornings are more pleasant. My energy level is about the same but more even. Im nicer. Its easier to go to sleep.
It was about a month or two worth of withdrawal symptoms. I felt sleepy in the middle of the day. I was going to bed at around 8pm. But I got back to normal pretty quickly.
Theres some good things in coffee like chlorogenic acid but theres other sources of that. I drink decaf green tea now if I want something hot and brown. Decaf coffee is too high in caffeine imo.
Congrats to you too. I already knew about you being sober and clean from previous discussions but you're right, it's important and can be pretty hard to get to the part where you understand how much it's worth it.
Voat really inspired me to quit booze and caffeine and to loose weight. I hadn’t been around enough people who were saying addiction is weakness and drug use was pathetic before then. I realized the truth of it. I had some revelations about the nature of how addiction works and that its a form of slavery that parasites benefit from. It was that epiphany that made it possible to quit all that stuff. I really find that having the right frame of mind about addiction, the right understanding, really makes it much easier to quit. The addiction itself tells you lies that make you want to keep using. Reality is the antidote to that internal narrative.
You should tell your IRL friends and fam how much it means to you that you got off weed. Share your success— they are probably struggling with similar problems.
I've been getting by with 2g disposal vapes. They're discrete and very convenient - I've gotten them through courthouse security a few times & medicated in the bathroom. I'll buy a quo once every 2-3 months and use it to enhance my vape buzz. I really can't stand the skunky smell of weed and how it permeates on clothes and furniture and that's why I've been smoking it sparingly.
When I quit drinking I got really introspective for a couple weeks. I was remembering things that happened decades ago. It wasn't like bad memories or anything, fairly neutral. It was super interesting though, thinking about those things with a more mature mindset. After that I started writing again. I used to journal and write poetry. I can do that again. It's like a 20 year writers block had been lifted. My mind is definitely working a lot better. Not only that, but I'm processing emotion differently too. I still get mad, but not mad as fuck. I still feel sad sometimes, but I'm able to sit with it and let myself feel it and move on. I wish I had done this years ago, and I would have if I wasn't being such a fuckin pussy about the thought of going without.
I'm happy for you bro, keep it up. When you quit completely your gonna dream some wild shit for a little while. Try to enjoy it.
I don't know if I'm writing what I want to write so much as a stream of consciousness manifest on paper. It just comes out now.
I'm doing pretty well. Just finished this outpatient rehab shit that was court ordered. I'm definitely not as fucked up as a lot of those people, counselors included. Been meaning to post about it here, just haven't had time. I'm not bad though, which is good lol
It's funny when people mention their dreams getting weird before/during/after drugs. My dreams have always been a fucking trip my whole life, alcohol or no.
For me it's not that they get strange in content, it's more that when I'm going about my day I'll remember something that happened in the dream as if it actually happened. Certain medications and supplements will put that in overdrive. Nicotine patches gave me such vivid dreams that I couldn't differentiate between the dreams and reality which led to wondering if I was dreaming while I was actually awake. Shit's fucked, bout drove my ass of the deep end.
Nothing just a really normal feeling. I've been totally spaced out for a really long time. It was like instead of feeling like a dog I felt more like a dog with glasses on. Like a mayor.
Good for you dindu. Remember that weed does not give you extra joy. The joy is produced by your brain. Weed, like other addictive drugs, just steals happy moods from your sober life. Its good to wean off. Just make a reasonable plan to taper down and stick with it. Give your brain time to readapt.
You enjoy relieving your weed withdrawal. Youve raised your pleasure threshhold with this drug, so that you can not feel relaxation when sober in the same way that a non addicted person would.

wow so thats what sent me to hospital all those years ago, i only smoke bud so no edibles did it, i just smoke a lot
i was screaming in pain and the nurse told me to shutup and i threw up on the floor right in front of her so they gave me 2ml of morphine straight to my gut
felt like i was floating for a few hours, it was great but the pain was something ive never had, like constantly being stabbed
Years ago they didn't have a name for it yet, but since then enough people also were hospitalized that they came up with a clinical term. I went through it too, but didn't go to the hospital. Super hot showers or a heating pad on the stomach also help if you ever go through it again. The heat does something to the vagus nerve, if I remember correctly. Once it happens, your can get it again when not even smoking that much. I had to quit completely. I still wonder if it's the THC that causes it or pesticides or something else, but either way I never want to go through that again. Hangovers or withdrawals of any kind are simply not worth it anymore.
Whether or not Nancy Reagan says it is irrelevant. I believe we were brainwashed as a generation into thinking that addiction is harmless. I learned the hard way it wasn’t. I don’t believe any drug use is harmless. It reduces the efficiency of White society. Niggers are bad for us, jews are bad for us. Usury is bad for us, drugs are bad for us. They all harm our prosperity and our ability to function as happy healthy humans. Theres just no way you are better for smoking dope. You are worse. You’re a crappier version of yourself.
Reconsider. If you can go for 3 months without it, you might change your mind about using it continuously

I smoke an oz in 4-5 days, have done so since I was in my teens.
I dream every night. I dream when I nap.
The idea that weed causes you not to dream is ludicrous.
