Faith will drive repentance. We can't save ourselves from sin, and we're not an equal partner with Christ. To think that our works are needed to make Jesus's sacrifice complete is the height of human hubris.
Jesus completely saved us from sin. Our duty is to spread his word and believe on him. If we do that, the works will the natural fruit of accepting his sacrifice.
No one is going to save you, faggot. Stop wasting your time on made up bullshit, more importantly stop poisoning the minds of others with your bullshit.
I think this is where the confusion comes in, the state of being backslidden. It's a terrible state to be in. When you are His, He will find you out and you will suffer spiritually for it, which is a different suffering. It causes some special kind of mental and physical anguish. True repentance is no picnic.
Yes everything in this world is temporary. But it is the only world there is, therefore its the only world we should think and plan for.
Religious leaders use blandishments like eternal life to manipulate the populous. Faith alone is a predictable position for religious leaders who are trying to gather as many followers as possible to their religion, because frankly most people are incapable of leading truly good lives. Take niggers for example. They are literally only capable of believing, except for a few unicorns like Candace Owens.
It's a Burroughs quote. As much as he's a sick fuck, there's still some value in his work (even though I as a champion of free speech, have burned some of his pages). We were handcuffed together in a dream once... Still, last words of Hassan Sabbah is probably my favorite spoken word piece... Anyways, imma hanging over at movie night, but I need to rewind
When you walk down a sidewalk and bump into someone, do you not apologize to them! WHY would you do any less for God, When we "bump into" or transgress against the laws that God has given to us? How stupid and arrogant to think "we are saved" irrespective that we just banged our neighbors wife, while he was a work! Does any prot here, not think that God is owed a recognition of guilt, and an apology for breaking a commandment? Do you prots walk around thinking that you are dressed in teflon, and that sins don't cling to your souls? Or does the shitty music at your Sunday gathering-fests just wash the sin right off!
Oh, and the guy that opened up this video, WHAT A HACK! "I'm just going to stop sinning", is this assclown unaware that the devil constantly throws temptations upon us? Do we think that we can withstand the temptations of the devil 100% of the time? Go ahead Prots, continue leading souls to hell!
did you watch the video. you cannot add anything to the work of the cross. doing that is going agaisnt the work of christ. you are saved because you believe not because you let go of sins
otherwise, nobody would be saved because we all sin even after becoming saved
You miss the point entirely! Christ's Sacrifice on the Cross opened the door to souls being able to enter Heaven, Humanity lost Heaven with the Sin in the Garden. So now the door to Heaven is open, BUT, humans are in this testing ground called Earth, to see IF we are worthy to enter Heaven. THIS IS A TEST! We all stumble as we take this entrance exam for Heaven. It is Mandatory that we confess our sins to God, which IS in the Bible. Don't confuse God opening the door, with us already being in Heaven...
confession is always good but that not an act of works that you do, is an act of faith. because if it werent then how are you going to confess to someone that you dont believe that he even exist.
thus, confession is not work. you tell god of all the stupid crap that you did during the day or week but repentance requires that you dont do any sinful activity again.
let me ask you. have known anyone on earth that is sinless? we believe, confess to God in prayer or if we have offended a brother or a sister we must confess it to him or her. its just that simple.

This statement is probably the greatest difference of opinion I have with the Catholic Church.
If you die with sins on your soul, You can not enter Heaven.
That makes Christ's sacrifice conditional... incomplete... simply not quite enough. It implies that Christ's sacrifice wasn't perfect and complete for all time. I can not accept that doctrine. I believe works are the fruit of faith. I don't believe we need intercession by the Church to share in Christ's grace.
well that tradition is wrong because she had to show herself to the jewish priest and made an offer for her sin.
luke 2:22
22 And when the days of her purification according to the law of Moses were accomplished, they brought him to Jerusalem, to present him to the Lord;
read leviticus
(Leviticus 12:1-4)
Why?
God ordained new mothers to offer them as sacrifice after giving birth: 6 When the days of her purification are completed, whether for a son or a daughter, she shall bring to the priest at the entrance of the tabernacle of meeting a lamb in its first year as a burnt offering and a young pigeon or a turtledove as a sin offering. 7 Then he shall offer it before the LORD and make atonement for her. And she shall be clean from the flow of her blood. This is the law for her who has given birth to a son or a daughter. 8 ‘And if she cannot afford a lamb, then she may bring two turtledoves or two young pigeons - one as a burnt offering and the other as a sin offering. So the priest shall make atonement for her, and she shall be clean’ ” (Leviticus 12:6-8).
now i do believe that she was given a special grace to conceive the LORD. that much is true but nowhere in the bible is mentioned that she was born without sin. however, the angel gabriel did called the LORD jesus a holy thing
Luke 1:35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.
see it, she got pregnant by an act of the holy spirit overshadowing her in a special way. that i do believe because its scriptural and the fact that jesus had no human father points to his divinity and and most high holiness
you dont see much of mary in the gospels anyway. joseph do disappear from the gospels completely after young jesus was found at the temple teaching and asking questions to the elders .
catholicism makes her also the queen of heaven, a title which doesnt even appear in the bible and in the earlier church fathers manuscripts
i do agree she was most favored but that doesnt mean she wasnt a sinless human. the only one is jesus christ
I'm *absolutely Sure about that! What Ephesians 2:6 means is that prior to Christs Sacrifice on the Cross, all human souls went to a "waiting room" in Hell, (They didn't suffer eternal damnation, but, they were still in hell, albeit, suffering much less than those that were purposely damned to hell.) because they could not enter Heaven, due to humanities fall from Grace in the Garden. When Jesus Died on the Cross, Jesus went into Hell and freed the Souls that had led spiritually fruitful lives.
THIS is why Catholic formation is Crutial, and Protestants are essentially children playing with a loaded weapon. (Metaphorically speaking, no spicific offense meant.)

Does a Christian who dies in the midst of being an egregious backslider, in an absolute state of rebellion make it into those pearly gates? All I know is when I am living too contrary to Him, He does cuff my head or thump my ear so to speak. And I am so glad of it. There's lots of times when people wouldn't figure that I am a Christian.
I'm afraid my answer is going to have to be that, only God can truly judge souls. Maybe the backslider was being tempted by the evil one, beyond the backsliders ability to fully resist. I'm glad you posted your message, I too feel like I'm getting thumped, early and often lately.
the work of the cross is enough for my salvation. cannot Add anything to it. the only thing that i can do is to keep believing and endure in the faith.
you will be free from sin when you depart from this world.

12 Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. 13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

You must repent, which means to turn/change, from your old belief to the new belief in God's Word.
So, these two things come together.
You must repent of your old beliefs and believe in the gospel of Jesus Christ.
