I would sit with my back to any TV's in the terminal, cup it in my hand, with my hand in my armpit, completely hidden, with a book open in my lap, and change all the TV's within LOS to another station.

If anyone noticed/complained, you'd know pretty soon. Some functionary (usually an obese sheboon) would waddle out with a TV remote and go around switching them all back to cnn.
(I didn't know at that time that cnn was actually paying the airports to carry them 24/7)

When she was done, and started to waddle away, that's when the real fun started.
Because I would start covertly switching them back, the farthest ones from her first.

This usually led to some angry looking around, and an epic TV remote battle.

They'd change it, and I'd change it back. I mute the sound, and they'd turn it up. They'd turn it off, and I'd turn it back on again.

They would eventually give up and lumber away. There are few things in this world that are funnier than an enraged sheboon who lacks any clear target for her monkey fury.

Meanwhile those of us with IR blasters on our phones...

When phones had ir blasters on them I would download the universal remote apps and turn the tvs off. Pretty gay they stopped building those into phones.

There used to be a thing called TV Be Gone that would blast out a bunch of off-button IR signals for a wide variety of televisions. I never had one myself but the guy that made it would talk about it on a radio show I used to listen to.

Clever

It would be even more diabolical to cut the end off so it doesn't even look like anything is inserted.

Flipper Zero, just turn it down/off or change the channel from across the room. Always have on when I go to a waiting room.

Where do i get one of these?? Fantastic idea. I absolutely hate subjected to the cnn bullshit.
