Having people with opposing ideologies live together and vote against each other makes this one of the most evil, tyrannical periods of history.

It should be literally unconstitutional to govern more than a million people under the same laws. As soon as one county-like region gets too populous, it should trigger timed proceedings to separate into two counties with the same initial laws but with the freedom to diverge.

There can be standard law texts to reference, just as easily as how open source software handles licensing. Economic unions are fine for counties which trust each other to have the necessary responsibility when using the same currency, as are extradition treaties because it'll be funny when a free speech county enacts a nearby arrest warrant for a communist trying to preach where communism has been banned. It would become normal to defend land against anything or anyone unwanted locally.

Importantly though, a county could choose to limit or scrap voting. Some could allow only landowners or net taxpayers to vote, some may appoint an executive board or a single ruler instead, maybe some will use the patronage system.

The phrase "behave yourself, guest" needs to become a lot more common...

All government should be local. The best form of government governs least.

The Vietnamese used to say, "The provincial government stops at the village gate."

The reason all these fucking congress-critters run off to DC as fast as they can go is because if they had to stay at home and answer to their constituents every day, people would tear up their shrubbery and shoot out their porch lights at least weekly.

All government should be voluntary.

Yup one of the definite failures of the constitution was not having population limits on how much one person could “represent”.

One person can not represent 200k people.

The US population in 1776 was 2.5 million. There are many single cities in the US that are over that population.

The USA should have broken up into the United USAs a LONG time ago.

I'm pretty sure there is a proscribed number of representatives to local population, and we should be over 3000 reps total. It means nothing would get done, and it would cost a lot more to bribe enough people to get what you want.

But nothing getting done is a good thing.

The government isn’t a company. What all needs done other than f’ing off 95% of the time anyways.

And I don’t necessarily agree nothing would get done.

I am no expert but it sounds like you are advocating for balkanization.

Balkanization sounds pretty good.
No wonder Jews hate it so much.

It'll be name-called that and/or separatism, especially by the tyrant who wants total control of everyone, but in the end an unwanted policy is a cost imposed. Considering an example such as a man from Germany or Sweden for whom home-schooling is valued highly, the only choices are to leave, be a criminal, or make it legal and defend that region of legality!

"The phrase "behave yourself, guest" needs to become a lot more common..."

How about, "We won. Stay the fuck out!"

This was basically our states started out and they were very much individualized. And I've often thought very similar thing that states should be broken up into individual smaller States when populations reach a certain size.

I agree that political power must be far more distributed and local. The founding fathers never intended to have this much power centralized in the federal government.

I think you could have political power distributed over town, county, state/province, region and country but you need to similar sized populations and resources to each of these entities and ensure that lower levels of government are not usurped by higher ones as is the case now. That requires keeping the economic power at the local level.

Legal codes need to be kept short and sweet. Complex legal code just makes jobs for lawyers.

I propose citizenship be tied to work. Not fake work like lawyering or psyhology. Actual measureable productive work. There should be a work requirement for anyone who wants to vote or work in government. Work for government should be for a limited period. It should not be a career. It should be low pay or maybe voluntary.

Free trade between political entities is very dangerous and the majority of goods and services used by a state or political entity should be produced by its own people. Certain regions have virtually no true productivity and their economy is based on bureacratic scams. Washington DC for example. That must stop. Each area should be economically accountable to itself. Shitty workers should be poor. Immigration should be limited. Citizenship should be available to people whose ancestors have lived there for several generations. Citizens should work for a future their descendents inherit. Whats the point otherwise?

As soon as one county-like region gets too populous, they need to cull and fix their culture so it doesn't happen again.

Yeah if you look at this from a population perspective. But the government looks at this from a ruler/owner perspective.

The 2nd amendment is the last bastion of the people having any sort of say in the shaping of their government. Voting doesn't mean shit.

The Federalist Papers are well-known, but the Anti-Federalist Papers are a better read.

County or country? The 'r' is a very important distinction.

Our brains are incapable of handling all the conflicting stimuli.

This is why it's best to stay away from people

They aren't supposed to complain about the diversity of the slaves they are meant to be crammed in with.
