End of November 1972, on the couch with my leg elevated from a hockey injury, my left shin absorbed the trauma and shock of a wicked slapshot and I'm hurt. Parents got the news on, Walter Cronkite and he's beaming his bullshit right into our "floor model ZENITH TV,quality goes in before the name goes out" and it's the same thing over again, "VIET CONG, CAMBODIA, POWs, BODY COUNT, but hey, we were living it.

My brother comes in with a Uriah Heep album. I take note and tell him to leave me alone. Minutes later, from the bedroom to where I'm sitting, bitching out from a state of the art Realistic STA 2,000 with a JVC balanced rotation turntable and diamond tip needle and BSA speakers, the intro to SUNRISE.

I'M staring at the NAPALM drops on television and David Byron sends out "SUNRISE". This tune is a classic. I'd rate Heep on par with Pink Floyd, a little better than Deep Purple and a few points ahead of Led Zeppelin.

Incredible music and talent.
