This will be a test of states rights. Things like this should be entirely decided by the state. Federal over reach will eventually decide this as the federal government continues its war on Christianity and ultimately violate the Constitution. Thanks Obama /s

Was just a matter of time.

This is why I said this was retarded in the first place.

You want your children to know God, teach them yourself.

INTRODUCTION

The Standards Guidelines for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year are provided below. Immediate and complete implementation of these guidelines for the 2024-2025 school year is required.

This memorandum and the included standards must be provided to every teacher as well as providing a physical copy of the Bible, the United States Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, and the Ten Commandments as resources in every classroom in the school district. These documents are mandatory for the holistic education of students in Oklahoma.

In conjunction with the State Superintendent’s directive regarding incorporating the Bible as an instructional support in recognition of the existing Oklahoma Social Studies Standards, the Oklahoma State Department of Education has crafted these guidelines to aid teachers incorporating the Bible as an instructional support. The Bible has played a significant role in the development of Western civilization and American history (Kling, David W. The Bible in History: How the Texts have Shaped the Times, Oxford University Press, 2006). This document provides guidelines for teachers on how to
approach incorporation in a manner that emphasizes only its historical, literary and secular benefits, ensuring compliance with legal standards and precedents. Citation to standards is for example of sample authority.

CONCLUSION

The inclusion of the Bible as an instructional support in the curriculum offers students a deeper understanding of the historical and literary foundations of Western civilization and American history.

By focusing on these aspects, teachers can enrich students’ education while adhering to legal guidelines. These guidelines aim to provide a balanced, objective approach that respects diverse beliefs and fosters critical thinking. A holistic approach ensures that students do not merely see the Bible as a religious text but as a significant historical and cultural artifact that has influenced a wide array of human endeavors.

Moreover, maintaining neutrality and objectivity is crucial. By not promoting any religious beliefs, these guidelines ensure that the curriculum remains inclusive and respectful of all backgrounds and beliefs. The focus remains firmly on the educational and secular benefits of literacy and background knowledge rather than religious indoctrination.

In conclusion, incorporating the Bible as an instructional support into the curriculum provides an invaluable opportunity to deepen students' understanding of historical and cultural developments. These guidelines offer guidance for educators to approach this subject matter thoughtfully and inclusively, fostering an educational environment that is both informative and respectful.

Local bread and circuses

Trying to promote Christianity is not a bread and circus issue. It's near the center of the war between civilizations.

Let your kid have his dick chopped off without parental consent with the help of his guidance counselor versus let your kids read the Bible in a public school.

Its a non issue that will always get turned over per separation of church and state.

Its local political circuses because I live here and know what is going on. Every year we have elections and so every year there needs to be some outrage theme the left and right can cling to.

We abolished abortion via legalize. So now they need a new pet issue to politicize about.

Meanwhile the real issue. The Education department takes up a 1/3rd of the state budget. Goes completely ignored as intended per circuses.

Google maps the Capitol Building and look at the closest other building to it. Its the Education Lobbyists. Even the Oil industry has to walk further to get access to the government to beg for more grants and tax right offs.

This is a Trifecta State. All bills can pass into law if they wanted to change things.

Instead they push shit that let's them say look at what I pushed re elect me. Instead of slashing the Education department...we should have the best 2A situation. Instead they legislate more laws about open carry while adding infringements in the same bill. We can't carry a gun into the Capitol Building. What are they so worried about?

Meanwhile the state sued itself about the schools requirement of masking during covid... its circuses all the way down.

There should be no Public Schools in existence. This solves the problem altogether.

OK already has law in place that allows Bibles in schools and lessons with regards to the Bible. It won't be overturned. There's no grounds. Did you read the mandate or just the stories about the mandate?

Misses entire point. Its local circuses.

[ - ] FreeinTX -1 points 6 monthsOct 19, 2024 21:23:48 ago (+0/-1)

No. It's some of the most important law to be decided on the coming months, years. Can a public school teach you about Christ and the importance of Christianity in this country.

Nah. Circuses.
