David Lee Roth > Sammy Hagar ...and Sammy's a hell of an entertainer.

I agree, Sammy was really good at being Sammy, but David Lee Roth, love 'em or hate 'em, was IMO, irreplaceable as the front-man for Van Halen.

VH went on to be more successful with Sammy. Roth turned into a creepy jew kook in the early 2000's.

I don't know about that. Sammy certainly had his fans, But there were a lot of fans that didn't take to Sammy as the front man for Van Halen. Sammy was certainly talented, no question about it, but didn't bring the same vibe that David did.
