I put together a playlist of film-noir style movies made since 2000 (courtesy of ai and me). Come by and watch or download a link for later. Links should be available through Sunday or so.

There's some good movies on this list, idk what you're talking about. I needed some criteria to keep it focused, so that's what we have.

Double Indemnity

edit: I concede that there are "some" good ones, and a few I haven't seen. Inherent Vice.. meh, but I did like the style. I love film noir anything, I have no earthly idea why. You've included some I might not have grouped into this genre, but I see why they would be. I'd accept all of them as "good movies" but good film noir, idk. Would you include Sin City 1&2 in the genre? "A dame to die for" - I think we have to lol.

Bad times at El Royale is an awesome flick. Ditto for Memento.

Under The Silverbacks Lake is a comedy, not noir.

according to the ai:
Directed by David Robert Mitchell, this neo-noir mystery stars Andrew Garfield as a man searching for a missing woman in Los Angeles. Its surreal, dreamlike narrative, filled with conspiracies and codes, is reminiscent of classic noir’s focus on obsession and deception.

Have you seen it though? The whole movie mocks the modern urbanite goy, how sex is everywhere but meaningless and used more as a consolation like a baby blanket; how meaning in life is sought in meaningless and absurd conspiracies or a death cult. It's actually a pretty good movie. Definitely worth watching. Definitely not noir. Maybe noir in the way that The Big Lebowski is noir, except The Big Lebowski mocks noir films too.
