Again, he isn't the decider for a strike. Union members vote to strike. He is telling you about the pains a strike will cause Americans, but the union, not him, are striking because the companies in that trade are not keeping their wages on par with the cost of living. He may not look like he's starving but the longshoreman are watching their standard of living decline as the companies they work for rake in record profits.
I think he's overly aggressive with his warnings, but he's not making the decisions.
There is no way to replace dock workers given ANY notice. It's a skilled labor job that takes years to learn, decades to master. And it isn't that guy who decides to strike. The union votes for that.

Simple fact, pay has not kept up with inflation as corporate profits accelerated far beyond inflationary numbers.
Boeing union employees got a 30% raise to maintain their standard of living. I'm sure these longshoreman just want the same equitable consideration.
Remember, the union votes to strike. It's not up to this guy.

This tells me we have to have a mechanism in place to replace the port workers on short notice.

Any excess deaths were experimental vaccine fatalities.

Thing is about skilled labor. They can't be easily replaced.
