Hitler didn't 'fail' art school. He was turned down from entering for not being: a) A party member, b) A modern artist.

He was good enough an artist to make enough money as a street artist during the industrialization of his area, when many people were disconnected from their land, their people, and their wealth.

The rest of his time he spent getting interested in the politics of the time, mainly unions and jewish rabble-rousers.
