Sharks put up one hell of a fight when hooked, the pain in the ass part about catching shark is that they destroy a good length of line, fuck I've had 50ft of Berkley line shreded from shark, the thing is that they'll twist and turn into the line and their skin is like sandpaper, I've had sharks scissor 2ft long wire leaders, if you happen to land a shark it's only because the leader line was in between the teeth but even then the serrated edge of their teeth will eventually cut through wire which is why heavy tension on the line is imperative, when the shark suddenly turns directions and bolts in the direction of the rod resulting in sudden line slack it's that little bit of lost tension that repositions the line in it's mouth most often giving the shark the opportunity to bite through, another thing to be wary of is that even when those beasts appear to be worn out from the fight they'll suddenly lunge straight into the air in the direction of the line pull and right into the guy holding the rod...marlin are deadly for that too.

Stingrays are stronger for their size. It's so embarrassing to fight hard with a stingray just for your mates to laugh as you pull up 1kg of feed.

@KeepPoal4fags...big rays are like a bulldozer, when they're fluttering they're fast but when they flap they're faster and powerful...I've got hours and hours of underwater footage of rays...FYI, when on a dive if you want to attract rays it's best to be in a coral reef and to draw them in you use fish eyes, they'll feed right out your hand, and you'll only have minutes before barracuda show up. I've got some pretty wild footage of Rays...one more thing, people have no idea as to how large groupers can get...in the waters between the Caymans and Belize, basically from the NW edge of the Cayman Trench, in those waters there's some big fucking ocean fish, including whale sharks but there's grouper in that area the size of a Volkswagen, literally....and they "swallow bodies whole"...apologies for the verbiage but I get wound up when it comes to sea stories.

Hell yeah man, diving is the tits, but also terrifying.
There is a reknown little channel in the Fiji Islands where manta rays hang out and people dive in to see them. I went into the heavy current and was swimming against it when a goliath fkn manta swims up from behind me and goes right under me, maybe 2 feet from my face and this thing was like 25ft wide. I froze, but if I had touched it it probably would have stabbed me.
That was scarier than all the sharks and orcas.

Any idiot it doesn't gaff the fish the minute the fish reaches the surface deserves to have all their fish eaten by sharks. The thing was floating around struggling at least 30 seconds or a minute on the water top. What do they expect.
