Lebanon is just a recent example. All civilized parts of north Africa and the middle east were Christian. Just before the Reconquista, Christianity lost 3/4 of it's territory to Islam, most of it stayed Islamic to this day.

Lebanon had been under Ottoman rule for four centuries, after which time the French ran the country until the late 1940's bringing the Christian regions into the then modern age.

This woman must be absolutely retarded to think we'd be daft enough to believe that Lebanon declined, when all evidence we're seeing in our time in our countries indicates that Lebanon was sabotaged from within. There is no way that in the span of 25 years the Lebanese people simply forgave and forgot about four centuries of conflict with their Muslim neighbors.

Lebanese institutions and government agencies were already comped from their time under French rule. The French made sure to only allow people they could control into positions of influence. Then when the Zionists in Palestine made their move to create Israel, they forcibly ejected Muslims from their land, making sure that Lebanon was made ready to receive them whether the Christians wanted them or not. The European powers did nothing, because their governments were comped to the Jewish who had blackmail fodder on them for good measure.

Making matters worse, they were turned away from Christ during their time under French rule. The French in the act of modernizing, and thus liberalizing the Lebanese Christian population, both spiritually lobotomized and spiritually demoralized them.

What ultimately did the Lebanese in was opening the labor market to women so the government could generate more tax tribute revenue. This directly collapsed the Christian Lebanese birthrate. The Muslims did what they'd always do and eventually came to outnumber their Christian neighbors. The demographic war didn't get hot until Israel decided Lebanon's economy had to be destroyed before they liberalized the Muslims and nothing destroys an economy faster than war.
