I lost my shit on a customer today

It was bound to happen sooner or later.
This guy, who is a regular, comes in today with the same issues as always. He proceeds to tell me how what he did last week worked, so I suggest he do that same thing again. Then he starts questioning the value of the product, which he got from us, that worked. I repeat to go home and do what worked last week. He then starts coming off with ‘what if’s’ and ‘maybe this’ and other retarded stuff. He apparently wanted to argue. He’s always been difficult, not a dick, but difficult.

I said, “you know, you don’t have to shop here”. To which he said, “wow”. I said, “in fact, leave, get the fuck outa here, beat it, beat it”
I walked away from the counter. He looked at my wife and she said, “dude, just go”.

You guys will like this, he’s a local church pastor!

I've lost my shit on many customers. Happens more the older I get, just can't tolerate stupid shit as much as I used to. People are so used to retail in restaurant workers kissing their ass they almost don't understand when you talk to them like they deserve to be talked to. I wouldn't say I look for the opportunity to tell people to fuck off, but if it has to be done I'll be damned if I'm not gonna enjoy it.

I can’t say that I actually enjoyed it. In fact, right away I felt stupid for reacting in front of other employees . There were no other customers at the time. It took me a few hours to calm down afterwards, because usually when I’m telling someone off, I’m also ready to throw down and that’s not a place I want to go, to jail for assault.
After a couple of hours and the wife reassuring me that it wasn’t that big a deal, I was ok. She’s cool in that she said, ‘remember, I’ll stand behind anything you do’.

Edit: Really, I hope he doesn’t. That is the biggest thing too. However, it is funny how when people go on the interwebs to complain, a lot of the time you can see that it’s actually the customer that was the problem. Look at their other posts and see that they do the same thing everywhere they go. Like my wife said, this dude does this everywhere, sucking up time. She says this wasn’t the first time he’s been kicked out of somewhere.

Thank you. I think everyone moving forward will be relieved that this guy doesn’t come in anymore. He literally wasted 20 minutes of an employees time at the counter two weeks ago, which I didn’t even know about until after I tossed him. It’s just that he had worn me out a few times before and I was done. Although I had two employees witness this interaction, I think, hope they see it as me doing the right thing. I am very kind to people and always treat customers and employees with respect.

usually a woman problem but also a feminised man problem. definitely increases amongst men as they age and lose their testosterone. they don't problem solve, when they see a problem they talk about it and they enjoy doing so. the same pleasure your brain finds in solving a problem, theirs finds in talking about a problem. i guess it's an evolutionary thing because they're otherwise useless and won't survive without help.

everyone else has to put up with them. my dad just uses people as verbal battering poles for him to spill out his retarded thoughts on while barely listening to their responses and nothing stimulates him more than a problem that he can complain about and go to someone about. he'll just create problems to do it. sometimes he thinks he 'might' do something, like he 'might' change his phone plan so he goes down to the store and has the girl talk to him for 40 mins about the phone plans, then doesn't do anything. lol. he's an absolute fuckwit, just a complete plague on society, 95% of customer service jobs are solely to cater to these retards.

It's good to lose asshole customers and just keep the good ones. You don't need every customer, if you have some that drain your energy or make life worse, they may not be worth it.
