Quite the revolver. I like the integrated compensator, too. It looks like nothing I've ever seen.

A "must have" that I'd really like to pick up this year is a PSA JAKL. Although, the CMMG Dissent looks like a fun blaster as well. Can't find any side by side reviews/comparisons of the two, but they both catch my eye.

Have absolutely zero interest in this cartridge chambered in a handgun.

It just strikes me as a "dick-measuring contest" to see just how stupid stupid can get, and how fast, just for bragging rights for the "biggest, most powerful". So-called, quote, unquote, "handguns" like that are a niche market.

When it gets to the point where it needs a rifle-sized muzzle brake, and the recoil is going to have the bore pointed at the sky, and the weight isn't much lighter than a rifle anyway?
Just carry a rifle.

But,

Chambered in a Marlin lever action?

Or maybe in something like this?:

500 Bushwhacker in gel: https://youtu.be/wIu7y9rav4I?t=77

For those times when you absolutely need to shoot all the way through not one, but TWO elephants/hippos/rhinos/cape buffalo, from front-to-back, standing one behind the other.

500 S&W Mag is far beyond the capability of most shooters to handle as a handgun.

Big Horn Armory makes a lever action rifle in it. They seem to be heirloom quality too.

I think you may have misunderstood either the original post, or me.
The cartridge in question is the 500 Bushwacker (500BW).

"...the .500 Bushwhacker is capable of firing equivalent weight bullets at nearly twice the velocity of other large bore handgun cartridges, such as the .480 Ruger and .500 Linebaugh."

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/0/0c/500bw-swcomp.jpg

The one on the left is the 500BW. The one on the right is the .500 S&W, for comparison.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.500_S%26W_Magnum

The 500BW is the one I'd like to see offered in an affordable Marlin lever action. It is "do-able". There are already a number of shops that offer custom Marlins re-chambered in a variety of .50 cartridges, like .50 Alaskan.

I've had a Marlin in .45-70 for years now that I have been quite satisfied with.
(non-heirloom please, all of my guns are shooters and I have no room for "safe queens")

I realize that the OP showed the 50 BW, but I was stating that it's way above the 500 S&W, and is out of most people's skill level.

Personally I don't like muzzle brakes on handguns, and therefore 500 S&W is as large as a handgun need be, as people have successfully hunted both cape buffalo and elephant with it.

Anyone can use heirloom as shooters, but the style and cost are largely increased. I almost purchased a used, like new BHA model 89 for $3000 years ago, but thought I shouldn't be reckless as I was laid off at the time.

My rule is that, if it would make me wince every time it got a new ding or scratch in the finish, or if it would cause me to break down and cry if it was lost or stolen, I don't want it. I couldn't take the added stress.

If that's the case then you cannot afford niche cartridges either. Stick with 500 S&W or 45/70.

I love to talk about firearms and cartridges, as it's a passion of mine, hit me up if you or anyone else needs advice.

I was pissed when my 2000 F250 and Benelli Nova was stolen, so cost isn't really a factor...value is important.

My dick is big enough as it is, I don't need that or a shiny lifted 4 x 4 with a full trim package that will never see a dirt road.

Meh. Not devastating enough!
