How do I handle my friend with no awareness of his surroundings?

submitted by alacrity167 to whatever 7 monthsSep 17, 2024 19:11:13 ago (+3/-1)     (whatever)

→ be me
→ dad is INTJ Anglo pilot
→ taught me how to be orderly and efficient and civilized in public (proper etiquette and politeness)
→ friend is dirty spic
→ is constantly doing the diametric opposite of what I was taught, much to my embarrassment
→ stands still in the aisle at grocery stores - blocking people’s path
→ on bike rides goes on the sidewalk and doesn’t stop for traffic, just keeps gliding around thinking it will make him get to his destination faster
→ doesn’t make decisive moves, just stands there slack jawed waiting for a written invitation to do anything
→ we were just at a store and the cashier called next and he’s just standing there like “I can go?”
→ reaches for the top shelf at stores and knocks over shit
→ feels like he is an NPC who follows me around
→ makes me look like a retard by association

What is this personality type, is it remediable, and how do I tell him? Maybe his Latin “passion” (low IQ) makes him unaware of the concept of consideration for others and of certain rules that make things flow better for everybody.

I've heard the idea that some genotypes put order into the world, some follow, and others destroy (blacks)? Because he’s definitely a follower who hasn’t been told how to act, so he defaults to retardation. He’s a nice guy though, not malicious, which is why it’s harder to chew into him. I'd much rather this be a problem that is fixable.

Encourage him to ride his bike through traffic. Soon there will be one less retarded spic following you around.

he already has a concussion from running into a literal ambulance on his bike. probably made him more retarded.

Find better people to be around. You are the simp if you allow that type of behavior in your presence.

OK to your first point. I actually told him to have some awareness of his surroundings today tho. and he moved and all. but yo your first point I probably shouldn't have to babysit someone older than me.

Yeah you shouldn't but it is your responsibility. I don't care if the person is 8 or 80, a fool is a fool and not worth my time.

he was raised soft. Just start sneaking up behind him and yell "hey" once in awhile if you want to fix him.

Softness, eh? All those immigrants blocking aisles in grocery stores, are they soft or just stupid and childish?

We are the sum of our closest friends.

Where are your other friends? Shouldn’t you be keeping busy either raising a family, working a rewarding career, getting a formal education in a high-paying position or trade?

You seem to care a lot about your derelict friend and I believe the real problem here is your own priorities. But rejoice, because when a problem is ours and only ours, then we have the power to fix it. You cannot solve his problems but you can work to solve your own.

Trust me, your labor and mental energy is far more valuable elsewhere. Find where you can produce the most value for others and focus your efforts there. Perhaps you are actually the best welder, lawyer, doctor, father, male stripper, military technician, or underwater basket-weaver that ever existed but you simply haven’t applied your efforts toward the right path yet.

He is a low IQ mongrel, drop him. Yes, he makes you look bad by association.

[ - ] Cantaloupe 1 point 7 monthsSep 18, 2024 00:14:41 ago (+1/-0)

Oh, maybe this.

Ask him if he has an inner monologue, in a polite way.

If her did he wouldn't do those things.

You could put it though as advantageous. Rather than mention why.

What is your personality type that you would spend enough time with him not to be amused?

You're a self appointed jew type councillor who wants to makes someone else something they are not.

All abusive relationships are based om trying to change someone. You'll find your project person thinks you can change enough not to be such a dick. He might kill you for what you're doing. THose people have instincts.

Even the dumbest people have instincts and will turn on their abuser.
