It's odd to me that so many Americans just believe that what we say, goes. Did they honestly think that if they cut Russia off the US dollar that Russia would simply just collapse? Did they not recognize the sanctions as little more than incentive to leave the US run system in favor of another, better, way of doing things? We tell Russia, "You can't use our money." Did we expect that Russia would just no longer use any money?

It seems like Americans, or at least those in charge of our economy and place on the world stage, just believed that's how it's gotta be.
