Tariff's are a good thing if the foreign product uses labor and materials that are substandard to US labor and materials standards.
Yes. The price is higher. But paying a 10 year old girl $1 a day to assemble products is an unfair competitive tactic that the American workforce should not have to compete with.
Fight inflation by not printing money for wars that don't concern us, not by shipping out our manufacturing to countries that use slave labor and allow toxic waste dumps in people's back yard.
The tariffs are not about making things cheaper, but about encouraging manufacturing locally and offsetting the price-gouging that our foreign trade partners engage in.
It MIGHT make IMPORTS more expensive, but when the foreign trader is using unfair advantages (China does this ALL the time) then it evens the playing field for locals. I thought you Democrats were all for buying local and equity and all that?
Back in my day a pouch of tobacco was a nickel Back in your day nobody had a nickel.
Same crappy globalist argument.
If more Americans are working and wages are higher, the higher prices are not noticed, but more people working and more money staying in the country is.

That still don't get you where you're trying to go. Anything that harms Chinese manufacturing and promotes American manufacturing is a good thing.
