Is there really any reason for this other than the general physical weakening of the general population to include their health as well as strength?

Aside from other less benign reasons, overpopulation has led to massively destructive industrial food production practices that scar the surface of our planet and have resulted in the highest rate of species extinctions ever seen.

Agricultural land (% of land area) in United States was reported at 44.36 % in 2021

Almost half of the land surface area in the United States has been converted to industrial food production, solely due to overpopulation.

All types of food production? Food-processing plants, slaughter yards, etc?

The overpopulation is a world issue, not in the States yet, but with all the invasions we will soon be feeling the pinch.

I would argue the existence of massive urban areas IS overpopulation, but understand why the new people don't see it as a problem yet.

The US population has more than doubled since I was a kid. Even then there were far too many people crowding onto our surface area. (I may be part of the problem, but that doesn't mean I don't want it solved)

We need our borders sphincter-tight. Used to be any one coming in got no assistance. No assitance should mean people don't shit out more mouth breathers. Ending welfare is a start. Ending migration needs to be a thing.

Agreed.
