Taylor Marshall is an incendiary trouble maker. He's trying to start a fight. I disagree with Catholic doctrine and in many cases I think it's dead wrong, but I would never declare them unsaved. That's not my job.
Taylor Marshall was a protestant, and like a million others like him, saw the light, and converted to The One True Faith. Catholicism is correct and unified in its doctrine, even if the liberals among us in the Catholic church want to introduce falsehoods. protestants can't even agree about the Faith among themselves! protestantism is the blind leading the blind, a bunch of nomads wandering in a circle in the desert.
When a Catholic becomes a protestant, it's because they've given up, and just want to check the box, so that they can say that they are "religious". When a protestant become Catholic, it's because they see through the bullshit, and want a Faith that's grounded in reality, with a unified doctrine, and filled with the richness of Knowledge, Valid Sacraments, and Truth. We have a learned Priesthood whose life is a vocation to teach the Faith, protestants have hired guns, that take the Bible and distort its Truth, and regurgitate it back to those that just want to feel good on a Sunday because they've checked the box.You CAN'T tell me that a group as fractured as protestants, has any standing against the Catholic church, who IS the unified repository of Faith!
Barely a protestant, more like Catholic lite. The very language you use prevents any useful discourse. "The One True Faith"
Protestantism isn't a thing. You act as if it's some monolithic Catholic competition. It's nothing of the sort. It's simply the rejection of Catholicism. "Protestants... distort the truth." OK, wanna play that way? Catholics make up doctrine out of whole cloth that there is no biblical support for. Then they treat it as if it is the equal of Gods Word. It is magicked up out of Unicorn Feathers and fairy dust. Did you like that? No? We don't like it when you denigrate our honest exploration of the nature of God and salvation through Faith in Jesus Christ. You believe in the Church and what the Church tells you to believe, I believe in Christ. That's the primary difference.
When a Catholic becomes a Protestant, it's because that see the rot that is the Church. It's a system that has been taken over by Man. I believe there are many good Catholics. I also believe there are very evil men in the Catholic Church that are perverting the Truth, which is Christ alone.
I stand by my statement that former Catholic Lite Taylor Marshall is a trouble maker that want's to start a fight.
You can't have useful discourse with a protestant! That's tantamount to trying to have "useful discourse" with islam!
If you reject Catholicism, the Church that Christ founded, you reject Christ! And I say to thee: That thou art Peter; and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Matthew 16:18 Douay Rheims Bible
protestants condemn the very Papacy that Christ himself instituted! GAME OVER! Prots lose!
Christ didn't found that. Show me where Christ said anything about Catholics. Christ founded salvation through him.
You Catholics like to think you're unique. You are desperate for it, but you have to read the whole conversation.
Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
17Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah! For this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by My Father in heaven. 18And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades will not prevail against it.
The pope kisses Imams and says they have a place in the world. Square that with Christ's words.
Key Dates and Events in the History of Roman Catholicism
c. 33 to 100 A.D..: This period is known as the apostolic age, during which the early church was headed up by the 12 apostles of Jesus, who began missionary work to convert Jews to Christianity in various regions of the Mediterranean and Mideast.
c. 60 A.D.: Apostle Paul returns to Rome after suffering persecution for attempting to convert Jews to Christianity. He is said to have worked with Peter. The reputation of Rome as the center of the Christian church may have begun during this period, although practices were conducted in a hidden manner due to the Roman opposition. Paul died about 68 A.D., probably executed by beheading upon the order of emperor Nero. Apostle Peter is also crucified around this time.
100 to 325 A.D.: Known as the Ante-Nicene period (before the Council of Nicene), this period marked the increasingly vigorous separation of the newly born Christian church from the Jewish culture, and the gradual spread of Christianity into Western Europe, the Mediterranean region, and the Near East.
200 A.D.: Under the leadership of Irenaeus, bishop of Lyon, the basic structure of the Catholic church was in place. A system of governance of regional branches under absolute direction from Rome was established. The basic tenets of Catholicism were formalized, involving the absolute rule of faith.
313 A.D.: Roman emperor Constantine legalized Christianity, and in 330 moved the Roman capital to Constantinople, leaving the Christian church to be the central authority in Rome.
325 A.D.: The First Council of Nicaea was converged by Roman Emperor Constantine I. The Council attempted to structure church leadership around a model similar to that of the Roman system and also formalized key articles of faith.
551 A.D.: At the Council of Chalcedon, the head of the church in Constantinople was declared to be the head of the Eastern branch of the church, equal in authority to the Pope. This effectively was the start of the division of the church into the Eastern Orthodox and Roman Catholic branches.
590 A.D.: Pope Gregory I initiated his papacy, during which the Catholic Church engaged in widespread efforts to convert pagan peoples to Catholicism. This began a time of enormous political and military power controlled by Catholic popes. This date is marked by some as the beginning of the Catholic Church as we know it today.
632 A.D.: Islamic prophet Mohammad dies. In the following years, the rise of Islam and broad conquests of much of Europe leads to the brutal persecution of Christians and the removal of all Catholic church heads except for those in Rome and Constantinople. A period of great conflict and long-lasting conflict between the Christian and Islamic faiths begins during these years.
1054 A.D.: The great East-West schism marks the formal separation of the Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox branches of the Catholic Church.
1250s A.D.: The Inquisition begins in the Catholic church—an attempt to suppress religious heretics and convert non-Christians. Various forms of the forceful inquisition would remain for several hundred years (until the early 1800s), eventually targeting Jewish and Muslim peoples for conversion as well as expelling heretics within the Catholic Church.
1517 A.D.: Martin Luther publishes the 95 Theses, formalizing arguments against Roman Catholic Church doctrines and practices, and effectively marking the beginning of the Protestant separation from the Catholic Church.
1534 A.D.: King Henry VIII of England declares himself to be the supreme head of the Church of England, severing the Anglican Church from the Roman Catholic Church.
1545-1563 A.D.: The Catholic Counter-Reformation begins, a period of resurgence in Catholic influence in response to the Protestant Reformation.
1870 A.D.: The First Vatican Council declares the policy of Papal infallibility, which holds that the Pope's decisions are beyond reproach—essentially considered the word of God.
1960s A.D.: The Second Vatican Council in a series of meetings reaffirmed church policy and initiated several measures aimed at modernizing the Catholic Church.
I agree with your comment about kissing Imams! This Pope is a Globalist puppet! The rightful Pope, Pope Benedict was taken out by globalist homosexuals, and replaced by Bergoglio! Traditional Catholics, of which I am, can't wait until he's gone!
We have some common ground. I respect Pope Benedict because I believed he was bringing Catholics back to their core faith. I admired him for that. Christianity should have no acceptance of sin.
I agree that there is common ground between us, and, if I have to be honest, To some extent, I've enjoyed our exchanges.
I'm not a fan of Pope Francis, especially due to how he became Pope. Occasionally he does do some things, that are objectively good. But I think the damages he does, far outweighs the things he does that are commendable.

Oddly enough, I believe the first Apostle to minister to a gentile was Peter in Acts 10.

The Catholic Church is a corner stone of Christianity. I feel strongly that it is important that it not be pulled down into the mire of the world.
I disagree with some of the doctrine, but understand its importance to Christian culture and the future of Christianity.
We need a Christian revival, you and I probably disagree on what that means, but I think it's the only thing that will save the Western World.
