Healthcare is the one business sector that will ALWAYS be hiring.

Tone down the programming side, and look into a tech / networking degree that will allow you to monitor, maintain, or tech support computer systems used in that type of setting.

I don't think you need a full on Computer Science and Information Systems degree to break into that.

They only hire niggers and mud monkeys.

You are the exact kind of person grievance studies degrees were invented for.

Yeah, but at least I'm a villian with a degree in Computer Science.

Getting a degree in something that you're interested in AND that you can make a career out of it makes a lot of sense. But just getting a degree to have a degree is a big fucking waste or time and money. Do yourself a favor and go do something with your life that doesn't involve going to school, at least until you've figured some shit out and know what you want to do. Otherwise you will regret it.

Now if you want to learn how to write programs then there are a million cheaper, faster, and more effective ways to do that then some University or technical school.

I'm not even touching on the whole saddling yourself with a ton of debt and having nothing to show for it but a degree you neither want or that does any good.

And as far as figuring out want you want to do goes you need to get some experience first. Going to school because you don't what else to do is not it. And neither is working retail and hanging out with a bunch of other lusers on weekends.

Get out there. Live.

i know at least 20 tradesmen that would hire a hard worker for work tomorrow. get ahead of the curve. learn a trade. be useful. computers were a flash in the pan. become recession proof.

[ - ] anon 2072039 0 points 8 monthsSep 5, 2024 01:01:10 ago (+0/-0)

True. A certified welder is another.

I feel like I always need HVAC , plumbing, or electrical but I never need a welder.

As of 8-27-2024 there are over 10,000 jobs for welders paying $25-$55 per hour

I've never paid an electrician, plumber or HVAC guy less than $75 an hour for past 20 years.

McDonalds pays $22 to start around here

Are you paying a company employee, or a self-employed tech?

If the HVAC/Plumber is NOT self-employed then more than 1/2 of that $75 is going to his employer.

Yea dude, computers is like the pumpkin spice basic bitch career of the man world. It’s a field based on being intelligent and capable so you spend your days problem solving to fix technology that is constantly changing. It is a decent trade of your time and abilities for money but it’s no different than half the women in your graduating class going to college for nursing.

150 years ago, you’d be building the telegraph lines.

If you go on Zip Recruiter or Indeed, you’ll find all of the random bullshit jobs that pay $100K require an arbitrary Bachelor’s degree. Examples include “Part orderer” and “mid level manager”.

Finish the degree. You could take on a medical IT job which will allow you to pay for the 4 year school and find a fulfilling job in a more rewarding field. I have a ‘career’ but have returned to school. This time, it’s not about survival but rather fulfillment.

Passion, Personality, Prospects.

You can really make a living doing anything.

Is your view of college job training?

If you could have great knowledge of any topic, what would it be?

Say you and everyone you know has everything they want - what would you talk about with them?

Is it because learning is hard? That just means you have shitty learning skills and need to figure out how to program your brain. Learn how to learn. That's a skill and also your organizational skill and diet.

College and people who 'work' with computers are all for faggots.

Faggots should be burned alive for entertainment.

Go pick up a real tool. Outside, faggot.
