Just got back from a 3 day offroading/camping trip today from a place with very rocky trails and steep hills and stuff

Just got back from a 3 day offroading/camping trip today from a place with very rocky trails and steep hills and stuff.

On day 2 i went a little too fast down a rocky trail and a front A-arm on my Polaris Ranger snapped, leaving us broken down deep on a technical trail.

While trying to limp my ranger back to camp with a broken front A-arm, finally, the sole ball-joint holding the hub "kinda sorta" in place popped out, the hub spun 180 degrees and snapped the brake line and bent the tie rod also, so I was fucked and stranded from there.

Spent the rest of the day getting my machine recovered off the trail. Still had a good time though but my machine is fucked now with a list of fucked parts I need to replace.

Sooo Im kind of sad. Luckily my trip wasn't 100% ruined because at least I still had my trusty Honda ATV to ride around on.

Im drinking vodka tonight.

Oh, and my air mattress had a leak so I had to get up a couple times a night to air it back up and go back to sleep. Slept like shit cuz it was warm and humid at night, so im tired. Dont wanna sleep though. Sipping vodka drinks and watching TV with my lady. Itll be ok i guess. Ill fix and build ot back better than before. I was surprised just how thin-walled the metal A-arms are after it broke. When I fix it, it's getting some much better aftermarket A-arms, ball joints and bearings and stuff.

Sounds like a very expensive and shitty way to waste your time. Just grab a rucksack and go backpacking.

But.. But I like my offroad machines. Hiking is fun too, but I've had this passion since I was 7 years old. To each their own. Eat shit faggot. Give me your address. Ill come to your house, kick your ass, then take you on a thrill ride of a lifetime with you tied up in the back seat like the bitch u are.

Jk

Those polarises break all the time. They're not tough at all. I had a friend who used to rent them out but he had so many repairs cuz they were always literally breaking their frames that he could never make any money.

I agree about older Polaris machines. But I also think Polaris has come a very long way as far as knowledge about their product and consumer demand in the past few years and they're better now. My Ranger is a 2016 model, so it's probably a little behind the curve.

Im not a Polaris tech or engineer though.

Renting offroad things like this out though is a recipe for disaster no matter the brand. Renters on average are retards who don't own their own machines and therefore have no knowledge about the machine's real abilities and limitations. And niggers, simple as. Used to work for a guy who rented out Honda quads and it was always niggers who trashed his machines the worst, and I got to fix them. Renting out quads and SxSs is high risk, especially to niggers. He eventually secretly stopped renting to niggers cuz they were the worst lol.

Im gonna install better aftermarket tie rods, A-arms, ball joints, bearings, axles, etc on my machine.

Wish I had the money for a new Honda Pioneer or Yamaha Rmax but I dont, so I will upgrade parts and make do with my old Polaris Ranger 900 in the meantime.

Sounded worse than it looks, you'll have your kart back to factory (1)day after you get the parts. Confidence is high!

I picked up a cfmoto uforce 600 a few years back and have beat the piss out of with work, hauling cut trees out of the woods, using the dump body to spread loam and gravel. MY neighbor has a ranger and he cannot keep it running, some electrical issue, but the uforce has not given me any issues except for one smoked cvt belt because I was pulling logs out of the woods in reverse and winding the piss out of it, could smell the rubber but kept going because I wanted to see the abuse I could put it through. Honestly, for a 10K machine that comes stock with hard-top and winch ..for the money, I have no complaints. It ain't a Can-AM but I didn't have to pay for one either

CF Homos have acome a long way as far as quality. They used to be more shitty. Props to them. I've met the owner. He is the most jewish-looking faggot you've ever seen. Probably is jewish. But they do make alright stuff at competitive pricing.

I've worked on a lot of CF Homos as well. Most common issues with those is the 4wd actuator motor crapping out, and the belt sheaves wearing prematurely.
ALWAYS use low gear in low speed, stop-and-go, hills, and mud and the sheaves and belt will last. Only use high gear for continuous higher speeds.

The dude at the dealership parts counter basically said the same thing. I never use anything but low, unless I am on the main rd doing 35+. Thanks!

I wish I had the money for a nice Pioneer 1000 or a Yamaha Rmax but I dont.

Really though, I got my Ranger 900 for an insane deal because it used to be an oil field machine.
Those oilfield spics already had it beat up before I got it.
Ive put it through some serious shit before it broke. It's been amazing. Surprised it broke when it did and not earlier.

GOD Id love a Pioneer 1000 with that dual clutch tranny or an a yamaha Rmax though. Those machines are sweet.

When I was broken down on the trail, someone rode by on a Polaris Expedition 1000 and ot looked amazing. Fully enclosed cab air conditioning and heating. Looked comfy as fuck. Stuck my head in the cab and it was indeed blowing cold air. I was jealous.

I’ve had one piece of Polaris and a few Hondas. I’m sticking with Honda.

What honda do u have? If you say Big Red ill assume you're some farmer who believes Israel is our greatest ally.

I really wish Suzuki would make a nice SxS built with the same spirit as their LTR 450 sport quad. I love Suzuki. But yeah Hondas are super nice until the fancy oil pressure-controlled clutch system fucks up, then it gets really expensive.

Im a certified Honda tech.

Shit, I have a 2003 Rancher. I had a 230 but got rid of it. Never had a problem with either. I have a Polaris that’s given me nothing but trouble. Hell, I’ve had ironheads that were easier to deal with than this damn Polaris. I’m trying to offload it. I’ll seek out another Honda to replace it.

My trusty Honda quad is a 2004 Rancher 350 Electric Shift 2wd. Never have problems except an occasional carb clean. Love it. It's mint. I drag fallen trees with it all the time. Things a trooper.

When we do some offroad with a friend he almost always breaks something. An expensive hobby, i would say, but he is crazy about cars and offroad specifically.
