how come when I click download invoice of a pdf it just takes me to a print preview screen?

Print to PDF. Problem solved.

Yeah I learned that too eventually, but at first I confused the fuck out of me, because I am no printing anything.

Sometimes it can depend on the site. For example, Microsoft and Google email services have a built-in pdf previewer that it will use when you click on a pdf, but yahoo mail will download it to my computer. In any case, you may be able to right click the link to the pdf and go to "save as" or something like that.
