Or how do they generate the electricity that they are charging these cars with? That all comes from coal. Wind turbines and solar farms cant meet this demand and they refuse to build nuclear plants.

wind farms consume more electricity than they generate, most of the time.

It depends on the type of turbine. Some have pretty low static friction to overcome. But I agree this is a problem for the most commonly used design in wind farms.

Can you imagine attempting to store, and dismantle massive amounts of these batteries in order to recycle them?

If just one battery goes into thermal runaway, then the entire facility would be at risk as well.

Why do you think it is impossible to recycle them?

You just discharge them, grind them up, separate the chemicals, redox the active chemicals, and reuse it in new batteries. Simple.

That's not a valid argument for the possibility of recycling. Obviously it is less expensive to use raw materials.

No one said it was impossible but it sure as fuck ain't "simple". Simple is writing the process down and simple is engineering it on paper. Actually doing it is out of touch with reality and would require massive amounts of material, power, chemicals and contamination containment for the huge EV batteries. If it was "simple" there would be plants popping up everywhere already because when the coming onslaught of dead batteries hits, everyone of the "nothing wrong with EV's" fags will be standing around with their finger up their ass.

So what that no one is putting money into it ahead of time, that's not rational buisness planning. No one can predict when recycling will become profitable. It sure as hell ain't any time soon. Dead batteries can sit at the junk yard as long as they need until mining new materials becomes too expensive. That could be 100 years from now.

So what that EVs are more trouble than they are worth, that does not mean you can make up a bunch of lies to make it sound even worse just because you hate them. Argue your point on facts and stop making everyone who does argue on facts look stupid by association because you are happy to push anti ev lies.

You look stupid when you say recycling full size vehicle batteries is "simple". Just because you're brainwashed by "EV's" doesn't mean you can call everything "simple". Anti-Ev? I don't give a fuck about your EV. Have it. What people are mad about is forcing this EV shit down out throats. If they would just make electric cars and leave everyone alone, sell them on merit then no one would really give a fuck about your precious EV. If you want to pay a hefty sum, have limited range and keep buying a new one every 10 or so years then have at it.

No I'm not desperately doing anything of the sort. I repair electric vehicles and regular internal combustion vehicles everyday. I've been interested in electric vehicles before you even cared about them.

" Simple does not even mean easy" - this has got to be the most idiotic statement I've heard in a long time. The literal definition if simple is "easily understood or done"

I'm definitely not talking out of my ass bud. The fact is you're having a breakdown over EV's and you're talking to a professional with 27 years experience in the field. Either way don't take it so hard. If they come up with a better power source EV's will destroy any combustion engine as the torque is incredible. Personally I like the plug in hybrids if anything because the battery is not so expensive when it needs replacements and I like to keep my car for as long as I can. But mark my words when all the electric car batteries fail in the next few years it's going to be a shit show.

My dad has a small xtype which he’s driven for over 20 years. He loves to drive it. I think its a well made car. Still going strong. I don’t know how many miles he’s got on it. Over 200k for sure.
