Thankfully I hit the tarmac on a cheek of my arse and not my hip. Dazed I dragged myself up only to see my helmet had fallen down a rockwall almost into the sea. So in my traumatised state I had to climb down over jumbled rocks to retrieve my helmet. There was no-one else about so my pride was intact at least. There was no-one about because SEAus was experiencing a ferocious wind storm and only idiots were out and about. I knew it was risky taking the bike instead of walking but I'd been getting RSI type pain at night from too much walking which stops me sleeping so I was trying to avoid that. Yep, I made the wrong call but thankfully only ended up with a huge bruise on my bum.
