Damn, nice and shiny! How's your lady with paddling? You can turn a nice day into a shitty one if someone doesn't know what they're doing. My wife, for example, pretty much just goes on a boat ride.

She's never been but excited to go. A boat ride, yea that's it. lol I've done a lot of paddling, canoe and kayak. The past 5 years it's been kayaking but I think we're good. I've got two good pfds so we just need one for the dog. Thanks!

Where's the troll motor I told you to get huh??? Seriously though, its nice. I have a flat bottom john boat 14'. I can take it off the lake and up rivers without dragging and go to muh spots. Oh, and get yourself a little toolbox to keep tools you will need, like for tightening shit up AND keep some hole repair shit in it. flexseal tape too. Maybe some of that hole clay stuff

1lb of duct seal is real cheap and should do the trick in an emergency. If you need more, start swimming.

I picked up a 16' sportsman boat that's going to sit in my back yard until the house painting is done in a thousand years, but that's my next major project.

I had a 12' sea kayak that I USED TO TAKE OUT IN tampa Bay. until the day I saw a 15" dorsal fin sticking out of the water. gave it away

I went with a group canoeing down the suwannee river. 123 miles over a 3 week period. Everything went fine until a kid was dipping his hand in the water and dipped up a baby alligator. We yelled at him to throw it back in and started paddling like we were hearing banjo music!
Overall that was about the best camping trip I have ever been on.

Supposed to rain this weekend of course.

That is perfect timing. Make up some limb lines, find a nice large creek/small river that doesn't move too fast. Paddle up stream putting out limb lines just before the rain starts, collect a bounty on the way back down to the truck.

Live bait is best of course, give them just enough line to get under water, they'll splash around trying to escape and really draw them cats in.

I met this guy. They made the best canoe out there. They are worth every penny that is asked for them.
Unfortunately the grandson did not carry on the tradition. The place is empty now and I don't think they make these any more. They were good people.
