Again, this just isn't true nor is it what was described in the article. Anyone with any life-saving training knows to protect their own life first. If someone grabs you, you break their nose or you go straight DOWN, and drown their panicky ass first. Then you haul their lifeless body to shore and start cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

But that is all unrelated to this, since the other two both got out of the water fine. If the person in the water grabs you and you both drown, then two people drown not one.

Anyways my point still remains. This guy was either NOT a strong swimmer, or he was drunk, and from the wishy-washy article, it seems to imply probably both.
