They can only have salmon in Japan if it's from captive "farms".
So it makes sense that if you have parasites, your entire "colony" is fucked.
Want fresh salmon? Norway
Fresh tuna? Japan.

Norway is probably farming salmon too now. But I agree farmed salmon may have a higher parasite load.
