I've stated and I think others have as well that people who live in one of these areas need to start wearing defensive clothing. Just like medieval times you were thick cloth with perhaps some metal reinforcement that protects you against stabbing.

Remember,kids,practicing knife fighting is important. Get toy knives and spend time training in techniques to disarm and neutralize knife wielding enemies,especially if you're unarmed. You can't count on having a weapon.

Do the same with guns and practice stealth. Move swift and silent and learn how to get to an armed opponent without them seeing you. Guns are great at range but up close,they're not so great,especially rifles.

Practice makes perfect.

No, just understand sometimes you have no choice to run and will end up facing someone with a knife - realize and be prepared to get cut, as soon as they extend the arm, go for the arm/ hand to control/ disarm the knife by physically fighting for your life. Thats pretty much the foundation of facing a knife, without all the spiel.

In my whole entire life I've had the misfortune of having to face knives twice without the opportunity to just leg it. Both times i was deeply cut/ sliced (forearm and face/ cheek), ultimately tho, i would not recommend and avoid if possible.
