Local city Chamber of Commerce. It’s what you do as a business owner. Once a month or so there is a gathering at a member's business, we’ve had them at ours. It’s casual, at the end of the day, about an hour. It’s usually catered and there will be beer and wine.
This time it was at a local bank. Small town credit union, not a national bank, but one with many locations across Northern California. The gathering was fine, same shit, food, raffle, announcements, introductions of the staff at said business. But I was blindsided by something. The branch manager of this bank, fat, (all of the women were fat), covered in tattoos, literally both arms completely sleeved, was talking to the group about business lending and whatnot. Gross.
At home, Mrs Icemonkey and I were commenting on the fact that we would never, ever, talk to someone covered in tattoos about our business financial matters. These are not serious people. Really? Corporate thinks it ok to have a branch manager look like shit? I’m not talking about millions of dollars to someone covered in tattoos. Who would?
I might have to drop corporate an anonymous note about this shitty business model of theirs. Where I bank, the bankers are wearing suits and ties and dresses, with nothing showing. Un-fucking-believable, just how trashy everything is now. These are not serious people. What a joke.
They're planning on replacing every single job that they can with AI.
In fact they're going to be very little reasons for humans to exist except possibly the travel and look at sites and get online and play video games. And at that point I don't know what place the humans are going to have in the economy because there's certainly not going to be anybody arguing with the humans should be participating in the largest that it's going to bring. So you better buy some stock in some of the companies they're going to be profiting from all this because unless you're an owner of it you're going to be excluded from the economy of the future.
You better buy some fucking stock become an owner or you're going to be an outsider with absolutely no reason for anybody to pay you any money at all and good luck eating.
Yeah I have noticed there are no rules in appearance for Bank employees anymore. That day is over.
And you better get used to society accepting tattoos because so many people have them now they are absolutely not a not a sign of anything even blue hair now talk to a republican girl who totally blue hair.
Just kind of get over it. You don't have to like it but just know that it doesn't mean what it used to mean.
It used to mean you were at the end of the road or cornered and had to prove what little worth your sorry nigger ass had - now it means you’re a fuckin cattle getting tagged on a jew-owned ranch and you couldn’t be any more proud about it.
just disgusting. They must think they are cool and progressive by being fat, ugly and covered in tattoos (which everyone has to 'admire') and still having to deal with (business) people. Another facet of the clown world
When I was young, I had some ideas for tattoos. Fortunately, I was of the opinion that “when I get older, I’m going to think this shit is retarded.” So I never got any.
Boy was I right. Super glad I never did that shit.
Never got any tattoos although pretty much all of my peers did.
Kids got excited for them. They always said: “Pick something meaningful.” And whatnot. But it’s like I intuitively knew there was nothing worth snapshotting to my flesh permanently. Experiences come and go. Change was inevitable and I knew I would change. I always said I’m still waiting for something worth getting but that never came.
Years went by and the thought of a tattoo is even more silly. Although I still have my memento from when the goth chick pierced me back in high school. Even then, it’s all so silly.
Agreed. I've had friends that spent thousands of dollars on them. To be fair the work they're getting done is high quality and they've done loads of research on the tattooist before committing but it's just never bent for me.
