Article is BS. Shoes provide a more favorable environment for fungi and other pathogens.

From personal experience, having gone barefoot for many years, the only problems I have had with my feet were caused by wearing shoes.

You probably don’t wash your feet very carefully very often,

ERICA SWEENEY has just revealed disturbing information about her personal hygiene practices.

omg.

.......

WHO IS ERICA SWEENY???

* editing to add-hahaha oh. the author. got it

I mean, she presumably takes her feet into the shower with her too. They're right there while she's washing the rest of her body. Now I'm wondering if ERICA SWEENY might 'be a little overweight'.

This article is hard core demonizing walking barefoot. Definitely must have something to do with covid.

According to the World Bank, 83.3% of the U.S. population lived in urban areas in 2023.

It's probably aimed at them. You wouldn't want to go barefoot in a city because of the fecal contamination from dogs and humans on the sidewalks. Living in the country, I went barefoot through most of my teens and had 'gravel-proof' calluses on my soles.

Not to mention chemicals. That's one environment where I won't go barefoot.

humans

You mean pajeets and niggers, don't you?

With San Francisco in the region, I'd guess mostly nigs, beaners, and white crackheads.

I'm barefoot quite frequently. Love to sit on my front porch in just my gym shorts with the pup, drinking a beer, maybe reading if it's not too bright and soak up the sun while visiting with folks that wander by.

I want to keep my skin dark golden instead of pale white for those times where I'm out playing and missed a spot with suntan lotion or just forgot it entirely. Minimises the deep burning you can get.

Bacteria, fungi, and viruses tend to love warm, moist environments, like saunas, pools, spas, or gym showers, says Dr. Schottenstein.

The relevant warm, moist environment is the inside of your shoe! Go barefoot and your skin stays dry and cool.

Going barefoot increases your risk of an injury, like a cut or scratch on your feet. When the skin barrier is broken—no matter how tiny the cut is—pathogens can get in and potentially cause problems like warts, athlete’s foot, nail fungus, and infections, Dr. Schottenstein explains.

You would have to be an AI to think that nail fungus is caused by a cut or a scratch.

You can find advice written by humans at https://barefooters.org

I guess it's gross but I'm barefoot almost all summer long. My feet toughen up but stay smooth like leather. They are not crusty or dry like people that wear shoes. They handle hot roads no problem. I have zero corns, ingrown nails, fungi, cuts, etc.
I've taken a road trip to Florida and stayed barefoot the whole time, inside and out. Fun fact about that trip, I was never asked to put on shoes except during our drive back north, in a mexican restaurant at South of the Border (if you've ever been there, you might find it surprising they were the shoe sticklers).
Two arguments I've received about being barefoot in establishments is: 1. It's unhygenic to the business. 2. It's not safe for me, the barefoot person.
But, any barefoot person knows to watch the ground extra carefully when they walk, keeping track of anything they might step in. Does a person wearing shoes, staring at their phone do that?
AND since the barefoot person has carefully stepped away from anything super dirty, how is it unhygenic for the business? If anything, the construction worker, waitress, and dog shit cleaner all walking into that same business with whatever on their shoes willy-nilly are the unhygenic ones.
Which does mean, yes, I'm walking barefoot on the same floor as the above mentioned shoe wearers, and yes my feet probably are picking something up. All I do then is wash them.
And no I'm not a snob, if anybody asks me to wear shoes I do.
One area I've stopped walking barefoot is in the grass. I've seen how many grass spiders are out there and I just know there's probably some under my feet.
Foot rant over.

In my family if you are dirty below the ankles, you have "Circle K Feet"

[ - ] PeckerwoodPerry 1 point 8 monthsAug 23, 2024 16:55:37 ago (+1/-0)

That's way too fuckin accurate.

I'm glad you can appreciate the reference. There's only a certain section of the world that fathom it's meaning with the disgust it deserves

[ - ] Clubberlang [op] 1 point 8 monthsAug 24, 2024 12:14:04 ago (+1/-0)

🤣 like the reference.

You could also say Waltards feet.

[ - ] MaryXmas 0 points 8 monthsAug 23, 2024 19:31:56 ago (+0/-0)

Is that what everyone is like at circle k? Gross.

[ - ] ItsOk2bArian 0 points 8 monthsAug 24, 2024 05:35:16 ago (+0/-0)

Not everyone, but you don't have to wait long to see one and the employees are not above suspicion

Hmmm having been reading a lot about how important grounding is for our health makes me suspicious of this article.

It's not too bad you just need to change the way you walk to be toe first instead of heel.

Health fears are part of the Bernays style jewish brainwashing, but nobody who lives in a city and goes outside barefoot is sane.Barefoot outside your house on your large rural lot is for children who know where the rusty nails are and had a tetanus shot

When police walked a beat they made lots of tax money by ticketing people who hork and spit on the sidewalk, because it spreads disease and is disgusting and uncivilized. But then demolishing civilization is the goal of communsts and their jewish masters.

Depends on where you are. Do you wanna go barefoot down a city street? No, you do not. Anywhere else should be fine but you still have a chance of contracting worms or getting a nasty cut
