I have a theory how it also might have been technically possible - a similar process like the early original photography using the tin plates for negatives or whatever and the chemical solution and a form of camera obscura for transferring imagery either directly onto/ onto cloth or from a tin plate negative imprint.
Any ideas if this is possible.
