This happened in Sunnyside, which is apparently a solidly middle class neighborhood in Staten Island. I don’t know much about Staten Island, but here is what I can say:

Staten Island is the most Republican/Conservative of the 5 Boros by far with probably Queens being a distant second. Probably half of Staten Island is Italian. A lot of Staten Islanders are from Brooklyn White neighborhoods or just one generation removed from White neighborhoods im Brooklyn.

Probably 90% of the Blacks on Staten live in the neighborhoods on the northernmost tip nearest to Manhattan (St. George?) near the Ferry which is where Park Hill and the other projects are near.

The only thing I can think of that would draw niggers away from their own enclave would be the Staten Island Mall, which I think is also in the middle of Staten like this neighborhood is.

I hate Staten Island. It’s a weird hybrid of Jersey and Brooklyn filled with dumb Guinea garbagemen and White trash dopefiends.
