Cactus flower (+ date sprout update - photos)

4th bloom of the summer. I've had it in a 3 gallon pot for a little over 20 years, and the bloom you see is at 9 feet above the ground. Have a second one in another 3 gallon pot, but that one fell over and broke into several pieces. Am rooting those pieces now. More info and photos about the san pedro cactus at this link.

If you saw my 'date sprouts' post a few months ago, am finally potting them today.

I have no place to grow date palms, so will guerilla garden them, or give them away. They're a random assortment of around 12 types of dates from Palm Springs, CA.

All three are still in the one gallon pots. Desperately ready to be divided, but I've been lazy. Have been working on the 'other' plants, which are coming along nicely. Have about double the limit this year. They're small though, and I just topped them for clones, so should be fine. Third try at Doug's Varin will have to wait until next spring. Peppers are doing well, except for the new seedlings. Getting some kind of stem rot, but I think a few will survive.

As in using them? Not these, but have been more fungi oriented. Guy in that link is using them for grafting stock too.

Yeah, as in using them. I've done it a few times. Got a batch in the freezer that's ready when I am. I keep a small stash of fungi next to it. It's good to be prepared.

Being prepared is always a good plan. As for your time passing slowly, at least you're on the outside. Try to keep it that way. 👍
