When is the last time you traveled via a commercial airline?

I haven't flown in 7-8 years. Thankfully haven't need to. I will avoid flying like the plague. Nothing to do with a fear of flying itself. I just hate the entire process - dealing with lazy nigger airline agents, sitting next to fat smelly pigs, delays and administrative incompetence, etc.

So you've never had the displeasure of having some ugly-ass overweight TSA sheboon pat you down?

Pre-9/11 flying was decent. The airlines gave actual meals included with airfare. Security wasn't overbearing and stupid. Airports could be more crowded due allowing non-passengers to greet travelers at the terminals. Otherwise, it wasn't so bad.

I fly as little as possible.

I will, legit, drive halfway across the country in shitty weather to avoid flying.

Haven't driven coast to coast yet.

Really? The time and associated risk, ie: breakdowns, stopping to fuel up, sleep or eat, all of which add to the expense, when all I want to do is be where I’m going, all add up to me flying in a heartbeat over driving. Hell, I’d fly to LBC before I’d drive there, I’ve done both. Also, drive to Vegas? Hell no, not when I can fly there in 70 minutes.

I can appreciate your point of view and, like OP, flying is pretty much my last option.

I find participating in security theater utterly distasteful.

We fly southwest a lot and have the quick check in feature getting us past the cattle and to the airport bar far before others!

The logistical advantage and convenience of flying can't be beaten, no doubt about that.

Most I've driven on a trip is about 2/3 of the distance coast to coast.

But I haven't even traveled out of the state during this same time that I haven't flown. Zero need or desire to venture too far away.
