Totally agree but I was fucking stupid at 19. I foolishly got a conference champion tattoo in college when we won the conference outdoor meet. It’s smallish and non visible most of the time on my back. It’s probably depositing ink straight into my spinal cord lol. Might get it removed one day.

I once knew a talented artist that designed his own tattoos. He went on a tattoo frenzy in his early twenties; he tattooed himself. Everything he could reach with his right hand looked ‘good’. Everything he had to draw with his off hand looked like shit. It was his greatest regret in his 40’s, that he didn’t pay for a pro to do the parts he couldn’t reach with his drawing hand.

I always thought that something like this was the motivation behind some people’s tattoos. Alot of warrior cultures use tattoos and other disturbing body mods. Many tattoos are meant to be threatening.

Other people are just trying to stand out in some way as special. But either way, I think it is a sign of a personality disorder like narcissism or histrionic PD. At least for people with alot of tatts. I always assume these tatted up freaks have personality disorders .
