I've run into eastern browns, tigers and highland copperheads. Had a copperhead swim right past me while tubing down a river because someone hit a bush with an oar. Almost stood on one once too, followed by my dog who almost made the same mistake (it was coiled up behind a log). They are pretty chill though, surprised to see them on a most deadly list. Eastern browns are the most scary they move fast in a really satanic way and will bite you if they can.
You guys have too many venomous everything. Venomous mammals, tons of deadly spiders that hide in your shoe, microscopic deadly jellyfish, poison toads, etc. You need to make some of this shit extinct already.

Paul, I hope you live a Long, Healthy, & Prosperous life! But when it is time for you to go, you have got to immortalize that phrase on your tombstone or what ever memorial you may choose.
At work one time we caught a baby rattle snake. It opened its mouth fangs popped out and it sprayed venom like a water gun out of them. The smell was so unique and pungent. I wish so bad I had a bottle or something to catch it in. It was so interesting to me
Snakes are more common than you would think. Most just avoid you before you even see them, unless you go flipping rocks, downed trees, or other areas they might consider safe.
They either hear me coming, or I've not frequented snake habitats. Salamanders, one around 14 inches, but haven't seen a snake in California in 40 years. They do warn about rattlesnakes in warm weather.
Snakes can be found anywhere in Australia, even in the suburbs. Have to be careful when walking in local parks even - especially if there's water nearby. There's a creek not to far from where I live and they have snake warning signs posted around. I've seen those little black snakes here a number of times, and spotted some browns.
Aussies are naturally cautious when it comes to snakes.
I think we have more snakes in our southern areas where you'd also find alligators, but I haven't seen a live snake outside since the 70s, or maybe the 60s. Now I'm imagining your parks being like that temple Indiana Jones dropped into with the thousands of snakes.
Aussies are naturally cautious when it comes to snakes.
