Because they live in an elaborate fantasy world. And there's nothing you can do about it.

An incredible number of them actually believe the bullshit too. Even that they can take on a 200lb 6'3" man without breaking a sweat in high heels.

This applies to all super hero movies.

OldBoy from 2003 had a fun corridor fight scene filmed in a single take but the bad guys were just sponges. Still, made for a good drama.
