Devon Island is an uninhabited island with quite a lot of history to it. Currently, there are two settlements; Dundas Harbour and Flashline Mars.
Dundas Harbour started out as an outpost by the HBC to establish Canadian sovereignty in the area but was soon abandoned and turned into a ghost town by 1951. Flashline Mars, on the other hand, is a relatively recent establishment. It is where the Flashline Mars Arctic Research Station is located. Many may associate this island with the planet Mars, and this research station is the main reason why, as its sole purpose is to imitate the feeling of being in Mars, with the mainly untouched and alien-like landscape of Devon Island.
