People made the first food banks to help homeowners keep their homes out of the banker's greedy grasp. Poor people had no mortgages and weren't affected.
What gets lost in these banker's home grabs like the 2008 melt down is that small businesses can't pay their financing costs and go out of business, and that appears to be an important part of the "No business but our business" monopolies they form, whether under Marxism or when the take over capitalism.

They took over the food banks as non profits in 1983, and then as openly global corporation run non profits, THe office staff gets paid, but it's written off on globalcorps taxes, so small business and capitalist workers, the people who create the taxes pay anyway.

THey did away with food donation boxes, and globalcorp box stores are writing off pallets of food donations. THey can expand that concept to everyone working, like they did in the USSR when people waited in lines for three days to get bread that they paid for with their own labour.
