You can still transfer thru a trust or corp. These were once the fast track way to get an item. Trusts and corps don’t have a face to photograph, or fingers to print, or criminal histories to investigate. I once got a suppressor transferred thru my corp in just 15 days. Since Trump, it takes about a year.

Now, a rep of the corp has to meet with the chief law enforcement officer and explain their need for a class three item. You have to get two sets of prints made by the cops, it costs 30 dollars. You then need two sets of ‘passport’ Iike photos taken. About 35 dollars. Put the pic on your fingerprint card. You leave while the local pigs look into your criminal background at their leisure. If that’s good, you come get your form signed by the police chief, or whoever.

Then you mail off your second set of prints and photos to the ATF, who take their sweet time. And always, ALWAYS. fuck something up. Before Trump, it was a smooth process.

I thought is was a synonym for scape goat. But its a different goat altogether.
