2 minutes on each side seared. Only salt and pepper (with garlic cooked in the oil). 30 minutes sitting out of the frig. 10 minutes sat out after cooking! here goes!

Sous vide is my new go-to for steaks. And call me crazy, but it works just the same, is a sealed steak in a dishwasher.

Not kidding. Marinade a steak in a sealed plastic bag. Run it through your dishwasher. Sear it one both sides for one minute with high heat. Perfect medium rare.

lol I could imagine it working great. Seems a bit awkward to use the dish washer specifically however the way they clean is almost exclusively through very high heat lol.

I hope it turns out well.

A good ribeye will be forgiving and thoroughly enjoyable even if you go over/under a bit.

Bon appétit, nigger!

Not over, no. The fat has to render a bit though

3 minutes each side, it’s going to be glorious.

It's excellent! I think 2 minutes worked out good!

Really glad to hear it!

A good ribeye is one of life's treasures.

Since you're going to be eating steak for a while, you may as well try your hand at dry aging next.

That and, presuming it's on your diet, a nice Zinfandel is a great accompaniment. Pro-tip: Wines that seem really "huge" or unpleasantly astringent up front may require you to warm up your palate a bit with something like a nice cab before being able to tease the complex flavor profile out.

Anyway, hope you have lots of fun on your steaking adventure!

Dry aging wastes a lot of meat. Dry brining though... Relatively quick and the results are great.

Dry aging wastes a lot of meat.

Life's full of trade-offs. You don't have to take it far enough where you're having to cut a rind off if you don't want to.

Otherwise, in my experience anyway, the process is no more wasteful than turning raisins to grapes. Even a day or two can do a lot to concentrate flavor

Dry brining

I'm aware of both dry rubs and brines, yet the concept of dry brining is a new one for me.

I'll have to check it out.

Pics or it didn't happen

[ - ] GreatSatan 3 points 10 monthsAug 3, 2024 07:28:51 ago (+3/-0)

You don’t need to leave it out to thaw unless it is a thick cut. And even then you are most likely going to have to put it in the oven anyways. And if it’s a thin cut you want it cold so you can sear it before it overcooks. It is a myth that it makes your steak more chewy trust me I’ve tried this so many times. Or you can just skip all this and cook it on the grill.

Get a cast iron skillet and put it in the oven. Preheat the over to 500°. Then throw in the steak for 3 minutes. Flip it and put it back in for three minutes. Eat that fucker. You’re welcome.

[ - ] MaryXmas 2 points 10 monthsAug 2, 2024 22:03:27 ago (+2/-0)

That to me sounds blue rare. If it was a thinner steak, it would be perfect. Hope you enjoy it. Next step- get yourself a beef freezer and a beef!

Sounds like the Perfect Gordon Ramsey Steak

[ - ] NeonGreen 1 point 10 monthsAug 2, 2024 23:15:55 ago (+1/-0)

2 minutes is bold. But at searing temperatures maybe that's fine. What cook temp does that end up being for you?

[ - ] i_scream_trucks 0 points 10 monthsAug 3, 2024 03:22:54 ago (+0/-0)

i hope you remembered to brand it with a swastika and hand built the oven that you cooked it in.

[ - ] Ragnar 0 points 10 monthsAug 3, 2024 00:13:18 ago (+0/-0)

Sounds great.
Though ribeye doesn’t even need cooking

[ - ] Leveraction 0 points 10 monthsAug 2, 2024 23:11:58 ago (+0/-0)

You can never go wrong with a ribeye

[ - ] Trope 0 points 10 monthsAug 2, 2024 22:55:42 ago (+0/-0)

Was this the advice to eat a strict carnivore diet of beef to get into the best health of your life while exercising, taking supplements, and getting plenty of sunlight?

Or was this some other sort of advice regarding the enjoyability of steak?

[ - ] CoronaHoax [op] 1 point 10 monthsAug 3, 2024 10:39:09 ago (+1/-0)

I've got a terrible digestive issue and choosing what to eat is a mix of what I want to eat most and what's most healthy. Because the more I want to naturally eat it the less I'll puke it out. But it needs to have a BIG impact on the overall health improvement and energy consumption, so beef / steak are good. I'm super shocked at the price though... $20/lb? Scallops are my alternative and I assume they're the same price now.

Thanks for sharing. I’m convinced the majority of us in this website will soon be off alcohol and sharing healthy meat-based meal plans and dietary advice in the coming years. We’re wise enough to avoid the goyslop and I appreciate that about these niggers and faggots.
